The violin, also known as a fiddle, is a string instrument, usually with four strings tuned in perfect fifths. It is the smallest, highest-pitched member of the violin family of string intruments. The modern word is derived from the Italian word violino, litterally ‘small viola.’
The Most important part of sizing a cello is the total height of the student.
The cello (plural cellos or celli) or violoncello is a bowed string instrument with four strings tuned in perfect fifths. It is a member of the violin family of musical instruments.
The Most important part of sizing a bass is the total height of the student.
The double bass, or upright bass, also called the string bass, contrabass, bass viol, stand-up bass, bull fiddle, or simply bass, is the violin family’s largest and lowest-pitched bowed string instrument in the modern symphony orchestra. The bass is used in genres, such as jazz, 1950s-style blues, rock and roll, rockabilly/psychobilly, traditional country music, bluegrass, tango, and many types of folk music. The double bass is played either with a bow (arco) or by plucking the strings (pizzicato). In orchestral repertoire and tango music, both arco and pizzicato are employed. In jazz, blues, and rockabilly, pizzicato is the norm.
